What are “FREE” CONCERTS IN THE PARK
CONCERTS IN THE PARK NPG is a registered Non Profit Company promoting & organising COMMUNITY based Concerts covering all genre of Music dedicated to bring to all people a FREE (NO ENTRANCE OR ANY OTHER CHARGES) magical afternoon’s enjoyment in safe, serene and glorious public Parks made possible by the Cape Town City Council & the Cape Town City Parks department.
Due to the staggering success that the Free Concerts in the Park concept has proved to be these Free Community Concerts for 2014-2015 series from November through to March are intended to be extended and held not only in De Waal Park - Oranjezicht, but also in the Jack Muller/ Danie Uys Park - Bellville and the magnificent Wynberg Park featuring the very best Musicians Cape Town and indeed South Africa can so proudly boast. These additional venues will make it possible for thousands and thousands of Capetonians from all walks of life and suburbs and visitors to our beautiful City to experience the very special vibe that “Concerts in the Park” generates.
Free they most certainly are to the more than 150,000 visitors who have attended so far from the first series in 2011 through to 2014. Free to stage they most certainly are not.
So who pays for them?

The 2013/2014 Series were Sponsored by the Cape Town City Council, The Executive Mayors Office & “fired up by NANDO'S“plus all the Donors and service providers from the Artists to the Sound engineers to the Designers to the homeless who erect & take down everything every Concert day, all of whom provide their “services” at drastically reduced fees and costs to make it possible for CITP NPC to organise, promote and present for the benefit of all.
