QUESTION – so what is CONCERTS IN THE PARK all about?
ANSWER – promoting & organising FREE community based concerts covering all genres of music and giving literally thousands of people free concerts in a safe, serene & glorious environment. The present Free Concerts series from November through to March are in the 1893 Victorian De Waal Park - right in the heart of Cape Town in Oranjezicht. (See MAP – so easy to get to & park)
Free they most certainly are to the 60,000 plus who attended last year’s series. Free to stage they most certainly are not. So who pays for them? This 2013/2014 Series are sponsored by the Cape Town City Council, The Executive Mayors Office and Nando's. Plus all the donors and service providers from the artists to the sound to the designers to the homeless who erect & take down everything every concert day. All of whom provide their “services” at drastically reduced fees & costs to bring to you the very best of the wondrous talent we have here in our beautiful city.
So, that’s what CONCERTS IN THE PARK is all about and that’s what we do and who we are.
Come join us – you – your whole family – your friends - including your dogs and have a wonderful afternoons entertainment. Don’t miss out – it’s FREE!
